My passion project is D.O.I Earn & Learn AI Hub.
It comes from what I see around me every day, young people who are ready to work and learn but don’t have the opportunity. Some cannot afford to learn a skill, and others who already have skills still struggle to get customers and make money.
This pushed me to create a solution that is practical and real.
Through D.O.I Earn & Learn AI Hub, I want to help unemployed youth learn vocational skills like tailoring, hairstyling, and baking, while also guiding them on how to use simple AI tools and WhatsApp to promote their work, attract customers, and start earning.
For me, this is not just an idea. It is something I care deeply about because I see the struggle, and I want to help people move from learning a skill to actually earning from it within 30–60 days depending on the skill.

This is a post concerning my passion project, what i have done so far with my peoduct service and also how i’m enhancing growth in my community

my experience as a cinematographer, teaching people at the same time how social media works with clear proof of work and showcasing my talent

my story revolves around the new me made by bsme2e
i was able to start up my journey using dance and demonstration as a mode for story telling

CropRx
AI-Powered Crop Diagnosis + Human Expert Validation via WhatsApp
“Your crop gets diagnosed in minutes. Verified by a real Plant Doctor.”
Submitted By Fahim Shakil Rahman
Institution Daffodil International University
Department Agricultural Science
Location Dhaka, Bangladesh
Submission Date April 24, 2026

1. PASSION PROJECT TITLE

CropRx: AI Crop Diagnosis + Human Expert Validation via WhatsApp
2. PROBLEM SOLVED

500 million smallholder farmers globally have no direct access to qualified crop health experts. The current reality:

• Farmers rely on pesticide sellers who push products for profit, not solutions
• Existing AI apps (Plantix, PlantNet) give generic diagnoses with no local context or language support
• No accountability exists when wrong advice causes crop loss
• Result: wrong treatment, chemical overuse, yield loss, food insecurity

Real example: A rice farmer in Bogura, Bangladesh was applying fungicide for 3 weeks with zero improvement. Root cause: the pesticide seller gave him the wrong product class entirely. He had no way to know. CropRx would have caught this in minutes.

No solution currently combines instant AI speed with human expert accuracy at a price farmers can actually afford.

3. TARGET AUDIENCE

Primary Users
• Small and medium-scale farmers: Bangladesh, South Asia, Southeast Asia, Sub-Saharan Africa
• Home and rooftop gardeners: Urban Bangladesh, Middle East
• Plant businesses and nurseries needing regular crop health support
• Agricultural NGOs and extension services needing scalable advisory tools

Core User Profile
Farmer, 25–55 years old, owns 0.5–5 acres, uses WhatsApp daily, loses 15–30% annual yield from misdiagnosed crop disease. Already shares crop photos in WhatsApp farming groups. Needs zero behavior change to use CropRx.

4. SIGNATURE OFFERINGS

All prices are per consultation. One consultation = one crop problem, complete diagnosis, full prescription, and all related communication within 24 hours of case submission. Returning clients automatically receive 10% off all future consultations, no conditions, no expiry.

6. FIRST 20% MILESTONE PLAN

What Is Already Done
• Direct field conversation with rice farmer in Bogura, Bangladesh — confirmed white blast misdiagnosis as active, ongoing problem
• Service architecture designed: AI triage layer + human expert escalation model fully mapped
• Pricing validated: farmer confirmed he would pay less than the cost of one bag of wrong pesticide
• Hybrid model rationale tested against real user feedback (see Section 7)

Next Steps: First 30 Days
Day Action
Day 1–3 Set up WhatsApp Business account with automated intake questions (crop name, age, location, symptoms, photos)
Day 3–7 Integrate vision API (Google Vision or Hugging Face crop disease model) for first-pass AI diagnosis
Day 7–21 Run 10 free beta consultations with real farmers — document every case with AI output vs. expert diagnosis comparison
Day 21–28 Measure AI accuracy rate; refine prescription PDF template based on beta user feedback
Day 30 First paid client; launch public announcement via WhatsApp farming groups and agriculture Facebook groups

The 20% Milestone = 10 completed beta consultations with documented accuracy comparison between AI output and human expert review.

7. REAL USER FEEDBACK & REFINEMENTS MADE

Farmer Interview — Bogura, Bangladesh
Aspect Detail
Farmer Profile Rice farmer, Bogura, Bangladesh; grows rice on approximately 1 acre
Problem Shared Recurring white blast on rice crop; had been spraying fungicide for 3 weeks with no improvement
Root Cause Found Was using bacterial fungicide on a disease requiring a different treatment class entirely — misled by pesticide seller
Key Quote I don’t need an app. I need someone who will actually look at my field and tell me what’s wrong.
Price Validation Said he would pay for this if it cost less than one wrong fertilizer bag — directly validates the $5–15 price range
Channel Validation Already shares crop photos in WhatsApp farming groups — zero behavior change required to use CropRx

What Changed Based on This Feedback
• Added human validation layer — AI alone would not have satisfied this farmer’s trust requirement
• Made human escalation automatic when AI confidence is low, not optional
• Added plain-language explanations so farmers understand WHY a treatment is recommended, not just WHAT to do
• Added severity assessment as mandatory first step before any prescription is issued
• Chose WhatsApp as the primary channel based on existing farmer behavior

Week Focus Key Actions
Week 1 Technical Setup WhatsApp Business setup; AI vision API integration; intake message flow; prescription PDF template
Week 2 Beta Testing 10 free beta diagnoses — 5 via AI only, 5 with human review; document all outcomes and accuracy

Passion Project Title:
ART for Policy Change: Breaking the Silence on Cerebral Palsy in Northern Nigeria

1. Problem You Solve:
High prevalence of cerebral palsy in Northern Nigeria, especially Borno State, caused by widespread home births (often >80% in rural areas), lack of skilled maternity care, birth asphyxia, and the harmful cultural belief that CP is a spiritual curse rather than a preventable neurological condition. This leads to stigma, isolation, delayed care, and lost potential for children.

2. Target Audience:
Pregnant women, young mothers, families with children living with cerebral palsy, and community/religious leaders in rural and semi-urban Northern Nigeria (starting in Maiduguri, Borno State).

3. Signature Offerings:

Signature Offering 1: Emotive Digital Art Campaign

Executive Summary: Powerful digital artworks using emotive realism fused with Northern Nigerian culture to transform the narrative around cerebral palsy from “spiritual curse” to preventable and supportable condition.

Product Type: Digital Art Series (images, posters, short animations)

Pricing Model: Free for community use & sharing | Sponsorship & exhibition partnerships (USD 500–2000)

Why it matters: Art reaches hearts where words fail.

Problem it solves: Stigma and lack of awareness.

Value it creates: Emotionally compelling prevention messages that increase demand for facility-based births and reduce isolation.

How it is different: Culturally grounded, emotionally powerful digital realism instead of generic posters or text campaigns.

Signature Offering 2: Community Sensitization Workshops

Executive Summary: Interactive art-based workshops that combine my original artworks with real stories and practical advocacy toolkits for families and community leaders.

Product Type: Service (In-person + Virtual Workshops)
Pricing Model: Free / Sponsored for local communities | Corporate & NGO sponsorship packages
Why it matters: Changes minds through conversation and visuals.

Problem it solves: Misinformation and cultural barriers.

Value it creates: Direct stigma reduction and increased health-seeking behavior.

How it is different: Uses art as the central engagement tool, making complex health messages accessible and memorable.

4. Success KPIs (Next 2 Months):
– Reach 5,000+ people with campaign messages
– Conduct 8 community workshops
– Collect feedback from 50+ participants
– Secure at least 1 meeting with Borno State health officials
– Achieve 30% reported increase in awareness/stigma reduction among participants

5. First 20% Milestone (by April 19):
Complete 5 core digital artworks, gather real feedback from 10 families, run 2 sensitization sessions, and prepare full launch toolkit — creating the foundation for measurable impact.

6. Real User Feedback:
– “People avoid us because they think it’s a curse…” (Mother of a child with CP)
– “The art makes it feel real and urgent. We need this kind of message.” (Community leader)
Feedback already used to refine messaging toward hope + prevention.

7. Stage 2 Launch Plan (April 30 – June 15):
– Full digital campaign rollout across Instagram, Facebook & local platforms
– 6–8 workshops in Maiduguri and surrounding areas
– Creation of shareable posters, short videos & advocacy toolkit
– Policy engagement with health stakeholders using art as visual evidence
– Continuous feedback collection and iteration

This project turns my strength as an internationally recognized digital artist and UN visual artist into a practical tool for social change — aligned with SDG 3, 4, and 10.

I am ready for execution and Stage 2.

Let’s replace stigma with understanding and prevention. 🔥
