SMART Evaluation Framework

All projects will be assessed using a SMART-based evaluation framework, designed to measure success against the defined goals. Teams must ensure their projects reflect:

Specificity

  • Each project must target the assigned objective clearly (e.g., “install 100 solar panels in rural homes”) and avoid scope drift.

Measurability

  • Progress must be tracked against quantifiable targets (e.g., “recycle 5,000 kg of plastic”), with monthly data submissions and clear metrics.

Achievability

  • Execution plans should demonstrate how targets will be met using available resources, infrastructure, and support systems.

Realism

  • Solutions must be practical, community-informed, and scalable, addressing possible local barriers with viable workarounds.

Time-bound Goals

  • Projects must be completed by the second week of November. Milestones must be broken into 3 clear phases with measurable checkpoints.

Projects will also be judged on – Additional Evaluation Criteria:

  • Impact Scope – Number of direct beneficiaries (e.g., 500 families, 200 students).
  • Creativity & Innovation – Unique approaches to solving problems and engaging communities.
  • Rule Compliance – Fulfillment of the required impact benchmarks for the specific challenge category.
  • Monthly Reporting – Regular updates and outcome tracking throughout the project cycle.
