Rude Jay is an emerging musician from Nairobi Kenya. His real name is Joseph Itotia and born on the 12th of August 1985. Coming from a humble background, Rude Jay grew up in a slum in the outskirts of Nairobi. He never let his background discourage him neither his passion for music. He was raised by a step dad who used not only to beat him up but also discourage and despise him infront of his step sisters. Life for Rude Jay was so miserable that as he grew up as a teenager, he got himself into the den of drug addiction trying to cope with his miserable life. He has been through a lot of he'll in his life like being arrested and jailed, been beaten up by mobs and some psychological traumas. That didn't stop his passion for music but encouraged him to do more and more perfection. He didn't let his circumstances take him down but he kept on rising through pain and agony. Rude Jay's Inspiration comes from Tupac Shakur whom he idolised as an unmatched lyricist and role model .
