Gadgets to God by David Wortley

When I first wrote Gadgets to God in 2012, I thought of it as a quiet warning — a personal account of fifty years watching technology reshape what it means to be human, from a Lincolnshire childhood without a telephone to a world of digital twins, AI, and the Metaverse.

I didn’t expect it to strike such a chord. The book has now been read by people across the global technology community, and the reviews that have come back have been humbling — and, I’ll admit, more than a little moving.
