Everything around is submerged in water. Fields, homes, trees, roads—everything is now underwater. In some places, the water is chest-deep; in others, even higher. It feels like a scene of utter devastation, where people are being swept away from their beloved homes by the fierce floodwaters. In the midst of this, a mother is seen standing as a symbol of courage, holding her child close in her arms. Although her face shows signs of exhaustion, her eyes reveal a profound expression of love. She seems to be shielding her child with her own hands, accepting all adversity so that no harm reaches her child. This scene is an extraordinary example of humanity. A mother’s love and bravery seem to give her the strength to withstand even the powerful currents of the flood.
As a result of climate change in Jatrapur Union of Kurigram District, Bangladesh Incessant rains have flooded thousands of houses in the surrounding area, leaving many people homeless. A homeless family has taken refuge in a small boat made of banana trees, hoping to survive. During this time, they suffer from a lack of dry food and clean water. It is a very difficult situation for them. The image depicts a family who has built a makeshift raft using banana trees to escape from the flood. This scene is from Kurigram, a district in the northern region of Bangladesh, where life faces the challenges of climate change. Due to excessive rainfall, the river's water level rises, submerging the villages. At the heart of this struggle for survival is a family that has been forced to leave their home and seek refuge elsewhere. To them, this raft is not merely a mode of transport but a means of survival. The makeshift raft is keep their few belongings and family safe. Through this image, the power of nature and the unyielding resilience of the human spirit are vividly portrayed. The reality of climate change is evident here—its harsh impact on people's lives.
