My name is Lekan Cletus Gbarabari, an undergraduate student of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Rivers State University. My journey has been shaped by resilience, curiosity, and a strong desire to create value despite difficult circumstances.
Growing up, I learned early that success is not determined by comfort but by consistency. Financial challenges have never stopped me from pursuing my dreams. Instead, they pushed me to develop practical skills alongside my academic studies. Over the years, I have gained hands-on experience in mobile phone repairs, electronic troubleshooting, PCB diagnosis, soldering, rechargeable battery systems, POS terminal repairs, and modification of electronic appliances. I enjoy understanding how devices work and restoring them whenever they develop faults.
Leadership is another important part of my journey. I currently serve as the Class Representative of my department. Beyond representing my classmates, I founded The Study Squad Initiative, where we organise free tutorial classes to help students improve academically. I strongly believe that true leadership is about helping others succeed.
Recently, I also enrolled in Backend Software Development because I understand that the future belongs to engineers who can combine hardware and software. My goal is to build intelligent systems that solve real-life problems in healthcare, energy, education, agriculture, and financial technology.
Outside academics, my Christian faith shapes my character and values. It has taught me resilience, discipline, humility, integrity, and service to others. These principles guide my decisions both as a student and as a leader.
What makes me stand out is not just what I know today but my willingness to keep learning. Whether I am repairing a faulty circuit board, leading a tutorial session, learning backend development, or volunteering my time to help others, I always strive to leave people and systems better than I met them.
