Signature Offerings Overview
The HEXO-Dehydrator System is a solar-powered dehydration unit designed to process approximately 500kg of highly perishable farm produce per month, running 24 hours a day β including during rainy and humid conditions β thanks to its battery-backed solar power supply.
Stats / Success Stories
- Processes approximately 500kg of produce per month
- 12 total drying trays
- Operates 24 hours daily
Problem It Solves
Farmers and food processors handling highly perishable post-harvest produce need a drying solution that doesnβt stall during rainy or humid weather and doesnβt depend on unreliable grid electricity. The HEXO-Dehydrator addresses this with a battery-backed solar system that keeps drying continuous regardless of weather or grid availability.
Benefits & Real Examples
- Solar-powered with battery backup (60-ampere or 100-ampere) β significantly reduces ongoing energy costs
- Charged directly by solar via a charge control unit β no voltage inversion required, runs on direct current
- Optional 240V AC power source available as a backup/alternative supply
- Operates 24 hours a day, including during rainy and humid conditions
- 12 drying trays for tubers, vegetables, and fruits β also suitable for grains and herbs
- Adjustable drying parameters for different produce types
- Modular design β eases maintenance and allows for future expansion
UN SDGs Alignment
- SDG 2 β Zero Hunger: Reduces post-harvest losses of perishable produce
- SDG 7 β Affordable & Clean Energy: Solar-powered with battery storage, minimal reliance on grid electricity
- SDG 9 β Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure: Modular design supports scalable, adaptable infrastructure
- SDG 12 β Responsible Consumption & Production: Reduces food waste through effective preservation
- SDG 13 β Climate Action: Reduces reliance on fossil-fuel/grid-dependent drying methods
How It Works
- Produce (grains, tubers, vegetables, fruits, or herbs) is loaded onto the systemβs 12 reinforced drying trays
- A solar panel charges an installed battery (60-ampere or 100-ampere) via a charge control unit
- The system runs on direct current from the battery β no voltage inversion is required
- An optional 240V AC power source can be used as an alternative/backup supply
- This setup enables continuous 24-hour dehydration, including during rainy or humid conditions
- Drying parameters are adjustable depending on the produce type being processed
- At full capacity, the system processes approximately 500kg of produce per month
