Nausheen Ahmed is an accomplished Internal Audit, Risk and Governance professional with 14+ years of cross-sector experience and global professional engagement. She currently serves as Head of Internal Audit & Compliance at BRAC University, and is an IIA Global speaker, subject matter expert, and contributor to global guidance and certification initiatives. She is recognized as an IIA Emerging Leader and is the recipient of the ACIIA Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Internal Auditing (OCIA) Award 2026 — the first Bangladeshi professional to receive this honor.
Nausheen's journey spans more than 14 years across internal audit, risk management, governance, compliance and controls, with experience across diverse sectors including microfinance, FMCG, financial services and higher education — including roles at ACI Limited, Marico Bangladesh, and ASA International.
She currently serves as Head of Internal Audit & Compliance at BRAC University, where her focus extends beyond traditional assurance to strengthening governance, enabling better decisions, and positioning internal audit as a strategic value partner. She holds the CIA, CRMA, CISA, IAP, CC and ISMS LA credentials.
Her journey with The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) includes serving as a global speaker, subject matter expert, certification content contributor, and contributor to global professional guidance. She has spoken at The IIA's International Conference and global virtual conferences, and has contributed to initiatives shaping professional certifications and internal audit practices.
Within Bangladesh, she has served as Secretary General and a member of the Board of Governors of IIA Bangladesh, and holds a seat on the Exam Development Committee at IIA Global — one of her most significant contributions being bringing BRAC University into The IIA's Academic Alliance.
Her contributions have earned several distinctions, including being named an IIA Global Emerging Leader in 2020 and receiving the ACIIA Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Internal Auditing (OCIA) Award 2026 — presented in Singapore during ACIIA's 20th Foundation Anniversary — for her outstanding leadership, innovative initiatives, and long-term contributions to the profession at organisational, national, regional and global levels.
What distinguishes her journey is the intersection of professional practice, global contribution, thought leadership and people development. She believes internal audit should go beyond identifying gaps to create meaningful organizational value, influence better decisions, and anticipate emerging risks.
This philosophy led her to establish SheenSight, a boutique advisory and professional development platform specializing in Internal Audit, Risk Management, Governance and Controls. Through advisory, training, mentoring and thought leadership, she aims to strengthen organizational GRC capabilities while developing future-ready professionals and leaders.
