In Her Own Words

My professional journey is rooted in purpose, discipline, and a belief that education is earned, not inherited. I did not grow up in a world where learning came easily or freely — I fought for every qualification, every opportunity, every step forward. That determination carried me through my PhD and my work in child psychology, shaping my understanding of how identity, character, and emotional development form in the earliest years of life.
Today, I stand as an early years professional, safeguarding lead, child psychologist, parent coach, and mother of two boys — roles that merge into one clear purpose: the child at the heart. My work is built on the conviction that children deserve emotionally intelligent adults, developmentally attuned environments, and systems that protect their right to become who they are meant to be.
Across my career, I have developed a unique blend of transferable skills — psychological insight, early years pedagogy, safeguarding leadership, parent coaching, and community engagement. This integration allows me to see the whole child, the whole family, and the whole system. I understand how environments shape behaviour, how relationships shape identity, and how emotional literacy shapes the adults our society will one day depend on.
My passion for oracy and communication stems from a deep belief that children must have a voice before they can have a future. In an AI-driven digital world where identity and character are increasingly at risk, I advocate fiercely for human connection, emotional availability, and relational leadership. Children need adults who are present, attuned, and courageous — and I choose to be one of them.
In November 2025, Nazish was honoured with the Transformational Leader Award at the House of Lords, recognising the impact of her work across communities.
